Rössing Bursary Scheme Applications

Bursaries

Rössing realises the importance of developing the country’s human potential and, to cater for the mine’s needs, we are especially interested in Namibian students wishing to study in, or who are presently studying in the following career fields:

Chemistry Accounting
Chemical Engineering Archival Studies
Civil Engineering Commerce
Electrical Engineering Community Development
Geology Fire Fighting
Industrial Engineering Information Technology
Mechanical Engineering Material Resource Management
Metallurgical Engineering Media Studies (Corporate Communications)
Mining Engineering Paramedical Services

 

 

 

Requirements:

  1. Namibian citizenship
  2. A 70% pass mark for school leavers in the major subjects required for their further studies
  3. A 65% average pass mark in major subjects for students already studying at a tertiary institute
  4. Acceptance or provisional acceptance at a training institution (if available)

If you meet the above mentioned requirements and are interested in this opportunity, kindly submit your letter of application clearly stating your intended field of study. The following supporting documentation should be attached to your application letter:

  1. Bursary application form or a copy of your CV
  2. Copies of academic results (specifically 2008 mid-year results)
  3. Copies of provisional/admission letters where available
  4. Copy of Namibian ID or birth certificate

Suitably qualified applicants from designated Affirmative Action Groups, especially women, are encouraged to apply. Our bursary covers registration and tuition fees, accommodation, meals, a book allowance, monthly allowance, study permit, medical aid and two return bus tickets per annum.

Only short listed candidates will be contacted. Should you not hear from us six weeks after the deadline, please consider your application unsuccessful. Applications for fields of study other than those listed above will not be considered.
