Rössing Uranium confirmed its commitment to supporting environmental initiatives with a donation to the Save the Rhino Trust (SRT) of N$ 276 600 today in Swakopmund.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony, Rössing’s corporate communication manager, Daylight Ekandjo, said, “As a mining company, we support environmental conservation and always want to be part of the journey of maintaining healthy ecosystems and environmental
sustainability.”

“When you look at the bigger picture of saving our Rhinos’, we fit well in this drive because we want to protect our environment and animals. We want our kids also to live to see our Rhinos,” she said.

“We hope this contribution will go a long way in filling the funding gap you are experiencing, and as a company, we want to see your activities continue beyond the 40 years that you have been involved in community-led rhino monitoring and protection.”

Save the Rhino Trust Chief Executive Officer Simson Uri-Khob said, “This is not the first time Rössing Uranium is funding a Save the Rhino Trust environmental project, and for that continued support, we are grateful that your company continues to give back to the community.”

“This funding came at the right time as we are experiencing some financial gaps,” he said.

Uri-Khob noted that the Trust strives to see the Rhinos thrive. We value this support, and surely, these funds will fill some of those gaps.
