Public Notice: Scam Alert – Stay Vigilant
We have identified an ongoing scam where fraudsters impersonate Rössing Uranium employees, particularly in procurement. They are using the fake email domain “rossinguranium.com.na”, with an individual posing as “Adriaan Morkel, Operations Manager” from adriaan.morkel@rossinguranium.com.na.
These criminals fake Rössing documents, logos, and staff email copies to deceive suppliers. Rössing Uranium only uses the official email domain “rossing.com.na” for procurement communication.
How to Protect Yourself
- Verify Emails
Rössing emails only come from “@rossing.com.na”. Any other domain is fraudulent. - Confirm Orders
Rössing always requests formal quotations and issues official purchase orders from the correct domain. - Delivery Protocol
All goods must be delivered to Wesbank/FP Du Toit depots in Walvis Bay or Swakopmund or directly to Rössing Uranium Mine in Arandis. Never hand over goods to individuals without Logistics Superintendent approval. - Coordinated Collections
The Rössing Logistics Department arranges deliveries through authorized service providers. - Emergency Requests
Any urgent collections must be approved by the Logistics Superintendent. - No Payment for Unauthorised Deliveries
Rössing will not pay for goods collected outside official procedures.
A criminal case has been opened with the Namibian Police, but the scam is ongoing. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
