The Rössing 5 km Fun Walk is always one of the popular items for young and old at the annual Rössing national marathon championship, taking place this year on Saturday 8 February. The Fun Walk is in support of the Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN) for the fight against cancer.
The Fun Walk starts at 09.00 at the Pro-Ed Akademie Sports Fields in Swakopmund, following a scenic route through the streets of Ocean View.
As a fun walk, the walkers stand a chance to win various prizes, such as best themed/most original costume; funniest hat; youngest walker (excluding toddlers in prams & pets); oldest walker; tallest walker and the cutest pet walker.
Entries for the fun walk can be made at the venue on Friday 7 February 18.00 to 20.00 and again on Saturday 8 February from 08.00 to 09.00. Registration fee is N$10 per walker.
