Rössing Uranium donated N$ 100 000 to the Swakopmund Municipality’s 2022/2023 Project
Shine Clean-up campaign, today in Swakopmund.
The funds are aimed at supporting Project Shine to execute its mandate of Cleaning-up the
roads and Awareness/Education Campaigns.
Speaking at the campaign launch, Rössing Uranium’s Corporate Communication Advisor
Kaino Ilovu said, the protection of environmental quality is important at Rössing, hence the
decision by the mine to continue its support towards the project.
“Rössing will also support the project with an evaluator and a 4x4 vehicle on monthly
evaluation sessions. By supporting such initiatives, Rössing aims to be the leader in
environmental stewardship in Namibia and a responsible corporate citizen,” she said.
Rössing Uranium is a founding member of the Project Shine, which was launched in 2007 and
has over the years contributed to this initiative of cleaning the B2 roadside.
“We are proud to be part of this great initiative, that is contributing towards the cleanliness of
our beautiful town of Swakopmund,” she said, adding that we now have a visibly cleaner
roadside.
